Regular Session July 16, 2026
The Pinal County Board of Supervisors convened at 9:40 a.m. this date in the Board of Supervisors Hearing Room, Administration Building No. 1, Florence, Arizona. The meeting was called to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and Roll Call. Present: Chairman Sandie Smith; Supervisor Lionel D. Ruiz; Deputy County Manager, Terry Doolittle; Chief Civil Deputy County Attorney, William McLean; Deputy Clerk of the Board, Sheri Cluff. Supervisor Jimmie B. Kerr and County Manager/Clerk of the Board, Stanley D. Griffis, were not present as they were attending a meeting out of state for the National Association of Counties. Motion was made by Chairman Smith and seconded by Supervisor Ruiz to approve Resolution No. 71603-GS II ordering the vacation of a portion of right-of-way known as All of the 20 foot and 16 foot alley bordering Lots 277, 278 & 279 of Golden Springs II, according to Book 13 of Maps, Page 47, Records of Pinal County, Arizona, located within Section 9, Township 1 South, Range 9 East, in the unincorporated area of Pinal County, Arizona, as more fully described in the resolution. Public Hearing and Discussion/approval/disapproval of Resolution No. 71603-HR ordering the abandonment/extinguishment of a portion of Hiller Road (66 feet wide) commencing at the Southwest Corner of Section 11, and at the Northwest corner of Section 14 and continuing East for a distance of 2,431.49 to a point of termination, lying within Township 4 South, Range 8 East in the unincorporated area of Pinal County, Arizona. Motion was made by Chairman Smith and seconded by Supervisor Ruiz to approve Resolution No. 71603-HR ordering the abandonment/extinguishment of a portion of Hiller Road (66 feet wide) commencing at the Southwest Corner of Section 11, and at the Northwest corner of Section 14 and continuing East for a distance of 2,431.49 to a point of termination, lying within Township 4 South, Range 8 East in the unincorporated area of Pinal County, Arizona. Desert Vista Sanitary District Board of Directors. 10:15 a.m. - Motion was made by Supervisor Ruiz and seconded by Chairman Smith to recess from the Board of Supervisors and convene into meeting of the Desert Vista Sanitary District Board of Directors. Motion carried by unanimous vote. 10:20 a.m. - Motion was made by Supervisor Ruiz and seconded by Chairman Smith to adjourn from the Desert Vista Sanitary District Board of Directors meeting and reconvene into regular session of the Pinal County Board of Supervisors. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Board of Supervisors hearing and action on an appeal by Michael D. Senger, Notice of Violation of Pinal County Ordinance No. 111099-RTO. Motion was made by Chairman Smith and seconded by Supervisor Ruiz to uphold the County Officer on the Violation of Pinal County Ordinance No. 111099-RTO with Mr. Michael D. Senger. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Chairman Smith directed Deputy County Attorney Johnson to prepare the necessary documentation and findings for her signature. County Manager's Report 'Information Only.' There was no County Manager's report. Call to Public - There was no one present who wished to address the Board. There being no further business the meeting stood adjourned at 11:22 a.m. The next regular meeting of the Pinal County Board of Supervisors will be on Wednesday, August 6, 2003, 9:30 a.m.
